In October 2026 the entry paid plans cost about the same: ChatGPT Plus $20 a month, Claude Pro $20 a month ($17 a month when billed yearly), and Google AI Pro €21.99 a month in France. Above that, each vendor sells much more expensive tiers aimed at heavy use, starting around $100 a month. This page lists the prices as each vendor shows them, what the plans say they include, and what to check before paying.
Quick answer: Compare plans by usage limits and by the tools you actually use, not by the headline price. At the entry level the three vendors are within a few euros of each other. The big price jumps (about $100 and up) buy higher usage limits. If you mostly want to compare answers from several models, a multi-model plan such as Satcove is a different product category with its own limits, not a drop-in replacement for each vendor's apps.
Key takeaways
- Entry paid plans: ChatGPT Plus $20, Claude Pro $20 (about $17 a month on annual billing), Google AI Pro €21.99 (France). Prices differ by country and may include tax.
- The ladder above that starts near $100 a month at all three vendors (ChatGPT Pro from $100, Claude Max from $100, Google AI Ultra from €99.99) and mostly buys higher usage limits.
- Cheaper entry plans exist: ChatGPT Go ($8) and Google AI Plus (€4.99). ChatGPT Go is shown with ads.
- Prices and plan names change often. Check the vendor's pricing page before you subscribe; the date of each reading is below.
Prices side by side
Readings taken on 2026-10-14 and re-checked on 2026-10-16 from each vendor's own pages. USD figures are the US list price; EUR figures are what the page showed for France and include VAT where noted.
Two things to read carefully. First, currencies differ: Anthropic's page lists dollars, excluding tax; OpenAI's page showed euros with VAT in France; Google's showed euros for France. Perplexity shows annual-billing prices only, in dollars, with no tax or country note. Do not subtract one column from another without converting and adjusting for tax. Second, Google's own page contradicts itself on the storage included with AI Pro (the FAQ and the comparison table give different figures), so check storage on the page before relying on it.
What the extra money buys
- Entry plans (Plus, Pro, AI Pro) raise usage limits and unlock the vendor's main tools: Codex and a work agent at OpenAI, Claude Code and Opus at Anthropic, Gemini inside Gmail, Docs and Vids at Google.
- The ~$100 tiers mainly raise usage limits. Claude's page describes Max as 5x or 20x the Pro usage; Google describes Ultra as 5x or 20x AI Pro; OpenAI Pro comes in three usage tiers. If you do not regularly hit the limit on the entry plan, these tiers are rarely a reason to upgrade.
- Usage limits are not published as fixed numbers. Claude's page describes a rolling five-hour window with weekly limits on paid plans. Expect to find your real limit by using the product, not by reading the pricing page.
Where Satcove's plans fit
Satcove is not another single-vendor subscription. It sends one question to six models (Claude, GPT, Gemini, Mistral, Perplexity, Grok) and shows where they agree and where they differ. Its plans, as shown on satcove.com/pricing on 2026-10-14:
This is a different tool with different limits. It does not include each vendor's own apps, such as Claude Code or Google's storage and Gmail integration, so it is a complement if you want to cross-check answers, not a replacement for a plan you use for those tools. For how six separate subscriptions compare with one multi-model plan, see best multi-AI subscription.
Which one fits which use
- You mostly write, research and want one assistant: start with the free tier of the one you like best, and only pay when you hit its limits.
- You live inside Google Workspace: Google AI Pro puts Gemini in Gmail, Docs and Vids, which is the reason to choose it over the others.
- You write code with an agent: compare Claude Pro (Claude Code, Opus) and ChatGPT Plus (Codex) on your own tasks, and expect to move to a higher tier only if you hit the limit.
- You make decisions and want to see disagreement: ask the same question to several models and read the differences. See chat with two AI models side by side for a quick method.
- You are choosing between ChatGPT and Claude: our ChatGPT vs Claude comparison covers how the models answer, not just what they cost.
FAQ
How much does ChatGPT Plus cost?
OpenAI lists ChatGPT Plus at $20 a month in the US. In France the plan picker showed €23 a month, VAT included, on 2026-10-14.
How much does Claude Pro cost?
Anthropic lists Claude Pro at $20 a month, or $17 a month when billed as $200 upfront. Prices exclude applicable tax.
Is Claude Pro or ChatGPT Plus better?
Neither is better on every task. They cost about the same, so choose by the tools you use (Claude Code and Opus on one side, Codex and a work agent on the other) and test both on your own questions before paying for either.
What happened to Gemini Advanced?
Google's current page does not list a plan called Gemini Advanced. Its paid tiers are Google AI Plus, AI Pro and AI Ultra, and AI Pro is €21.99 a month in France. If you see older prices under the Gemini Advanced name, treat them as out of date.
Is there a cheaper way to use ChatGPT or Gemini?
Yes: OpenAI sells ChatGPT Go from $8 a month (with ads), and Google sells AI Plus at €4.99 a month in France. Both have lower usage limits than the entry plans above.
Is it worth paying for several AI subscriptions?
Only if you use each one for something the others do not do well. If you mostly want to compare answers, a multi-model plan may cost less, but it has its own limits and does not include each vendor's own tools.
